Beaverton sees appointment of new finance director
A new finance director has been appointed to join the management team in Beaverton.

Debbi Lauchner was selected by Jenny Haruyama, the City Manager, as she has had experience in heading up the finance departments in larger cities in Nevada and California. Her most recent position for the past four years was as finance director in Reno, Nevada, which is the third largest city in the state. Prior to that, she was chief financial officer in Santa Rosa, California. These two cities have populations of 250,000 and 175,000 respectively.
With close to 100,000 people living in Beaverton, it is the second largest city in Washington County and one of the most populous suburbs of Portland.
Lauchner expressed her excitement about moving to Beaverton and contributing towards the success of the city. Haruyama, the first permanent city manager of Beaverton, said that Lauchner has over 20 years of experience in fiscal management, giving her confidence that Lauchner will be able to guide the city as it begins a new chapter. She added that she is confident Lauchner will help the city meet its financial goals of the future and continue the mission of the city, which is to provide transparent and responsible public stewardship.
