Beaverton camp helps to sponsor children in need

Summer camps run by Elite Sports Academy (ESA) will be coming to Beaverton later this month.

These will be held at Springville Elementary School and will offer kids a chance to play a wide range of sports, including football, dodgeball, and soccer. Elite Sports Academy serves minority and underserved young people, and provides free camps for these youth.

Andy White, executive director of Elite Sports Academy, said when he was young, he was able to go to camp and be involved in sports year-round, so he wanted every kid to have the same opportunities and experiences that he had. White said that the model that is used is that for every child that registers for the camp at Springville, then the organization sponsors a child in need at one of their impact programs in select communities. He added that when parents register their children at ESA, they are not only enrolling their children in a premium sports program, but are also helping those who are less fortunate.

White said that over the past eight years, their organization has hosted 3,000 children and served 30,000 free meals. Such organizations often engage flyer printing services to help parents and others in the community learn more about their charitable efforts.

The camp at Springville runs from Monday, June 26 through Friday, August 11 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
