Columbus class covers aspect of orchid care
Caring for orchids may be a lot easier than one might think, and a Columbus workshop will teach the ins and outs of repotting these exotic flowers.
The Central Ohio Orchid Society will be walking the attendees in the session through the steps of replanting an orchid into a large pot. This will give the plant more room to grow, and it provides an opportunity to perform a health check on their plant.
The techniques taught may be used with Phalaenopsis (moth) orchids and other species, and everyone who registers has been asked to bring one along with them for some hands-on practice. There will be five- and six-inch pots available for use, and its listing explained it is best suited to repotting ones that are in a 4.5-inch diameter container or less. The session will run for one hour, and the registration fee is $60 each.
Cultivating orchids and other houseplants that require special care can be a challenging hobby, and attending a workshop will give those who enjoy the pastime a chance to pick up some new skills. A flyer printing company can lend a hand by preparing effective promotional materials.
This easy introduction to the art of reporting orchids will be offered on Saturday, March 22. It will be held at Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, starting at 2:00 pm.
