Alt-country singer to appear in Cincinnati

A rock and alt-country artist will perform soon in Cincinnati.

Ryan Adams is a native of Jacksonville, North Carolina, whose first passions were poetry and cult fiction, including works by Jack Kerouac, Henry Miller, and Edgar Allan Poe. However, when he was 14, he received an electric guitar for his birthday, and played incessantly, becoming good enough to join a local band, Blank Label. He was determined to make a career in music, and left school early to pursue his dream. He played with two bands before forming his own group, Whiskeytown. During his time with this band, he created the alt-country style for which he became known, and the band itself had some success.

Adams went solo in 2000, releasing “Heartbreaker,” his debut LP. He was nominated for the Shortlist Music Prize for the LP, and went on to release “Gold,” his second album. He joined a rock outfit, The Cardinals, in 2005, and released albums with them which climbed into the Top 30 on the US Billboard charts. He also released solo works, and in 2014, “Ryan Adams,” a studio album, reached No. 4 on the US and UK charts. He dropped his most recent work, “Another Wednesday,” in 2025. A concert review says:

“Ryan Adams was great. He sounds fantastic live.”

Adams will appear at the Taft Theatre on July 20. Events like this can be enhanced if organizers use poster printing to develop colorful advertising to promote them.
