Valley Stream to welcome new apartment complex

Preliminary approval has been granted by the Town of Hempstead Industrial Development Agency (IDA) for the building of a rental housing project to be built in Valley Stream.

This will be a transit-oriented project that will be five stories in height and cover just over 81,000 square feet. The project will have 63 apartment units, of which 16 units will be studios, 29 units will have one bedroom, and 18 units will have two bedrooms. A studio will have an average size of 743 square feet, a one-bedroom unit will average 962 square feet in size, and a two-bedroom unit will average 1,386 square feet in size. Brochure printing is often used to provide more details about such projects, their features, and amenities.

The project will be on West Jamaica Avenue and is on the site of what was once a funeral home and a vacant single-family house. The property is one block from the Long Island Railroad Station in Valley Stream, and two blocks from the downtown business district.

The project will be developed by West Jamaica Holdings LLC, which is owned by Alexander Rivero, CEO Paramount Construction, a homebuilder based in Valley Stream. Chief executive of the IDA, Frederick Parola, said that this project will help to energize the downtown business district of Valley Stream, while also bringing rental housing that is very much needed in the town.

It is expected that construction of the project will take 28 months.
