Valley Stream invited to thank a soldier

This January, Valley Stream will have an opportunity to join with others who will be giving a salute to every member of the US military.

Hi-Lo 4x4 has organized ‘Calling All JEEPs: Thank a Soldier Ride’, and it is hoping the community will come out and show its support. JEEP owners are asked to decorate their vehicle with flags and ride to welcome a Marine who will be coming home for a short stay.

The JEEPs, including the Marines own vehicle which has been put into storage while he is away, will form a convoy to accompany him back to his home town. According to the organizer of the event, this will not only show support for him, but for other military members as well.

Those who would like to participate will gather in the cell phone lot at JFK Airport at 9:00 am to welcome the Marine home. His flight is scheduled to land at 9:30 am, and more updates about this will be provided to the JEEP owners as the date for the event gets closer. A local printer can supply weatherproof Banners, yellow ribbons, Signs, and other items for an event like this.

This show of support for members of the armed forces will take place next Friday, January 5, and the organizers have requested that anyone who is interested in joining the convoy RSVP, as this will aid in planning the day. More details can be found by visiting the Hi-Lo Long Island Facebook page.
