A documentary that tells about the life and work of a Valley Stream veterinarian has been receiving a considerable deal of notice.
The film, entitled ‘New York Vet’, has been featured in two area festivals. Produced by Hofstra Films, it was included in both the Long Island Film Festival and the Metropolitan Film festival.
The work portrays the “daily grind” of Dr. John Charos, who is a local vet and chief executive officer of Central Veterinary Associates. The documentary’s director, Megumi Smiros, interviewed Dr. Chaors as part of a class project she had undertaken as part of one of her courses. She had initially spoken with him about his volunteer work with rescue dogs after the 9/11 attacks, and decided to make something longer. A Stationery printing firm can lend a hand with this sort of effort by working with the producers to create Packaging for the film, as well as Posters and other promotional materials.
Dr. Chaors was filmed in his day-to-day life at his practice, as well as during his time volunteering with the ASPCA.
Smiros noted that she hopes that her project will help the public to gain more of an understanding about what it like to be a vet, the work they do, and the contribution they make to animals care in their community.
