Valley Stream celebrates Halloween

Halloween is coming and everyone from ages three and up can find something fun and spooky in the area.

The Valley Stream Recreation Department will be presenting its 2016 Halloween Costume Contest for kids. Three age groups will have their own contests. Awards will be given for funniest, most original, and scariest.

The Center for Science Teaching and Learning will be holding its Spooky Fest. Families are invited to stroll down spooky paths and those who are a bit more daring can walk the Scary Walk. The Maze of Zombies will be only for the stout-hearted.

There is still time to attend the Village of Valley Scream’s Haunted Hendrickson’s House of Horror. The haunted house has Rooms of Fright that are guaranteed to induce goosebumps. There is only one weekend left so those interested will want to mark their Calendars.

The village’s Costume Contest will be this Saturday, October 22 in the Mini-Golf tent at Hendrickson Park, 123 W Merrick Road. The contests will be at 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm. The rain date will be October 29.

The Spooky Fest will be October 21, 22, 28, 29 and 30 at 1450 Tanglewood Road in Rockville Centre. Gates will be open from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.

The Haunted Hendrickson’s House of Horror will be on October 21 and 22 at 123 W. Merrick Road, Valley Stream. It will run from 7:00 pm until 11:00 pm.
