Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA) has been enlisted by the Board of Education of the Valley Stream Central High School District to help in the search for a new school superintendent. HYA is one of the largest educational leadership search businesses in the country.
The firm plans to talk with administrators in the district and in the building, education trustees, and representatives of parents as well as the greater Valley Stream community to determine the qualifications and characteristics of the next superintendent. Then the firm will be able to market this position to potential applicants and recruit candidates after which they will vet them. Many kinds of printing services are often used by such firms to create materials that can be distributed throughout the country to attract qualified individual. The firm will help the Board is selecting finalists and announcing the new head of the district.
There will be an online survey available until Friday February 18 which will enable residents and parents of Valley Stream Central High to provide their input regarding the leadership needs in the district. Virtual forums will give attendees will have the chance to discuss their ideas and thoughts about the position.
The interview process is scheduled to begin late next month with a choice of finalists made by late spring. The start date will be July 1.
