Traffic safety resources secured for Valley Stream
The number of enforcements by Problem Oriented Policing officers and additional enforcement officers when required will be assigned in Valley Stream to help protect the public.
These officers will be located on Corona Avenue near the James A. Dever School and on Rockaway Avenue near the Wheeler Road School. These officers will be from the Fifth Precinct of the Nassau County Police Department. Nassau County Legislator CarriƩ Solages has secured this commitment from the department.
More information about such details can be made known throughout a community with brochure printing.
Solages has also been working with the village of Valley Stream to improve traffic safety and has received funding for the village to create streetscape on Rockaway Avenue to ensure that the road is safer for both pedestrians and motorists.
Solages said that as much as the village works to enforce traffic safety laws and create better roads, it is also important that residents be more considerate of pedestrians and of each other, particularly when behind the wheel. Solages added that education, engineering, and enforcement are the three fundamentals of solving traffic safety issues and she will continue to monitor conditions in Valley Stream and in her district. She also expressed her thanks to the Fifth Precinct of the Nassau County Police Department for working so hard to protect everyone and enforce the law.
