JooSoo Kim has been recognized by the Valley Stream Chamber of Commerce as its Business Person of the Year for 2023.

Kim is a realtor who came to the United States from South Korea when she was 20 years old. She had intended to stay in this country for just a short period of time to learn English, but when she saw the many opportunities available to her, she decided to stay. She pursued a career in real estate in 2013 after raising her children and continues to support her family and others in the community.
Kim has had important roles as the director of the New York State Board of Realtors for 2023 through 2025, and for the Long Island Board of Realtors for 2023 through 2024. She also shares her expertise with several committees, including the Standard Practices Committee, the Fair Housing Committee, and the Equal Housing Committee of the New York State Association of REALTORS (NYSAR), which demonstrates her commitment to promoting equitable and fair housing practices.
Upon receiving the award, Kim expressed her honor and noted that this shows her colleagues understand her passion and enthusiasm about the real estate industry. She said she believes that building a friendly and strong community requires everyone to work together.
