Oyster Fest to attract visitors from across the state

The 3rd Annual Long Beach Oyster Fest is coming up in around seven weeks’ time. It will be held at JJ Coopers in Long Beach, and visitors from surrounding regions including Valley Stream are sure to be planning to attend the popular festival.

Activities include oyster tasting along with various types of beer such as Dos Equis and Heineken. Three types of oysters will be available: Peconic Gold, Blue Point and Luck 13. The outdoor patio is serving Clam Bar. A drawing will be held to win a trip on Jet Blue.

Oyster shells are collected and used to build up the local reef, a habitat for a multitude of sea creatures.

The festival is presented by Craic Fest, a non-profit organization in existence since 1999. The organization is based in New York City and manages other festivals such as the Rockaway Oyster and Music Festival at Rockaway Beach.

Event planners frequently call upon the services of a local Print shop for projects that include flyer printing. The Flyers are widely distributed to communicate the upcoming activities. Banner printing is a key task for vendors and exhibitors participating in outdoor events.

The event takes place on Saturday, September 15 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. More information is available via the event website. A map to the location is also posted online.
