New apartment complex to come to Valley Stream area

The Langdon, an upscale apartment complex, is scheduled to be built in Lynbrook.

Residents of nearby Valley Stream might want to consider this transit-oriented development, which will be across the street from the Lynbrook train station.

This project is expected to cost $95 million and will feature 201 apartment units, along with a garage that will be fully covered. Other amenities will include a roof deck, gaming room, a dog run, and a health club.

The apartment complex will be built on three adjacent properties on Langdon Place, Broadway, and Station Plaza, which is the site of the Mangrove Feather factory, and has been vacant since 2008. The vacant building will be demolished along with a residential home and a warehouse at the site.

The ground floor will have 2,000 square feet of amenity and retail space and over 200 parking spaces, with a café along Broadway. The apartment units will consist of 35 two-bedrooms, 111 one-bedrooms, and 55 studio units. The affordable housing units will be 10 percent of the total available units.

Such developments often turn to brochure printing to provide more details about their amenities and features.

Fred Parola, CEO of the Town of Hempstead Industrial Development Agency, which approved the project, said that this site is ideal due to its proximity to downtown and the Long Island Railroad, and will be a boon to businesses operating there.
