Long Island craft shows offer unique holiday gifts

There are several craft fairs taking place next month on Long Island that will help to kick off the holiday gift-giving season.

Both events are juried shows that feature arts and crafts, general merchandise, and food. Several nonprofit and community organizations will also be on hand to inform the public about their programs and services. Vendors are still being accepted until the day of each show; fees for both are $85 for regular booths and $210 for food and service organizations. The shows are produced by Long Island Street Fairs.

These fairs will give local artisans and small businesses a chance to make themselves known to the public, who will also be able to purchase some unique and handmade items suitable for gifts for family and friends.

The first one will be the Plainview – Old Bethpage Craft and Gift Fair presented by the Chamber and the Public Library on October 1 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

The next day is the 5th annual Levittown Street Fair presented in association with the Levittown Library Foundation. It will take place on October 2 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Admission to both events is free and visitors will probably come from all over the county, including Valley Stream. A local Stationery printing company may be asked to provide printed marketing materials.
