The annual Golf Classic of The Friends of Mercy will be held in Hewlett and Lawrence later this month. Residents of Valley Stream who are golf enthusiasts will no doubt want to take part in this special event for a worthy cause.
The first course will begin at the Rockaway Hunting Club in Lawrence, where registration will begin at 7:00 am along with breakfast and practice at the driving range. There will be a shotgun start for single golfers and foursomes at 8:00 am.
The second course will be at the Seawane Club in Hewlett. Registration, a continental breakfast, and the driving range will open at 11:00 am with a shotgun start at noon. Lunch will be served on the golf course.
Drinks in the Grill Room of the Rockaway Hunting Club for both courses will begin at 4:00 pm followed by cocktails and dinner at 6:30 pm. Adam Schefter, a Senior National Football League Insider at ESPN who has covered the sport for the past 30 years, will be the guest dinner speaker at 7:00 pm.
Proceeds from the event will go towards Mercy Hospital, which is looking to expand the pain management services it provides in partnership with The Pain Institute of Long Island. Poster printing is often used to promote such special events and their efforts towards fundraising.
The Golf Classic will take place next Thursday, September 30.
