Festival celebrates Dutch heritage

The 32nd annual Dutch Festival is being held this May at Hofstra University. It is co-sponsored by the D'Addario Music Appreciation Initiative.

The festival will have something to offer for every member of the family. There will be a variety of children's games, rides and coloring activities. There is set to be a children's theater performance of ‘What Fools!’ which is a one-hour version of Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night's Dream’.

A number of Hofstra musical groups will be taking to the stage, including a cappella performances and an appearance from the East End Trio. Other activities are expected to include poetry in performance.

As is the case at all Hofstra University festivals, there will be vendors on hand who will be selling a variety of merchandise, including handmade jewelry, clothing, and paintings just in time for Mother's Day.

Visitors from all around the area, including those from nearby Valley Stream, are sure to want to take a short trip to attend this festival. Local Print companies may be asked to provide items such as Posters and Flyers to help let the community know about this annual event.

The Dutch Festival will be taking place at Hofstra University on May 4 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Admission is free. To get a complete schedule of activities for the festival, call 516-463-6582.
