The 19th annual Irish Festival is taking place next month on Long Island. This is a fundraising event for the Hofstra University Scholarship Fund.
The theme of this year’s event is ‘Let Ye All be Irish Today’. The festival promises that there will be lots of activities and events that will appeal to the entire family.
Musical entertainment will be provided by local artists such as the McLean Avenue Band, the Black Velvet Band, and Tony Jackson. There will be dance performances such as Irish step dancing and other traditional varieties.
Traditional Irish food will be available for purchase, as will a variety of Irish-related products. There are expected to be arts and crafts vendors on hand as well as general merchandise. In addition, several cultural and nonprofit organizations will be there to provide information to the public about their programs and services.
Vendor spaces are still available, measuring 10 x 10 feet and costing $140 for general merchandise and arts and crafts, $375 for food, and $50 for cultural and nonprofit groups.
Vendors, who will probably come from all over the area including nearby Valley Stream, will likely decorate their booths with Signs and Banners obtained from a favorite printing firm.
The Irish Festival will be held at Hofstra University on March 12 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission is $6 for adults and $5 for seniors. Call 516-463-6582 to learn more.
