The 5th annual Dog Day at the Green celebration is taking place next month in Valley Stream. It is a fundraising event for the Friends of Valley Stream Dogs.
The event will be suitable for people of all ages. It promises to have adoptable dogs looking for a new home, along with raffle draws and several contests, which may include the likes of best costume, skills, or dog/owner look-alikes. In the past, a local veterinarian has provided low-cost vaccinations and microchipping during the day.
Vendors will also be on hand to sell dog-related merchandise such as clothing, accessories, treats and toys. No doubt, several rescue organizations will also be there to talk about their programs and services while also having some animals for adoption.
Funds raised will go to the upkeep of Valley Stream Dog Park, which is a half-acre area that lets dogs run free.
The organizers have already invested in Flyers to raise awareness in Valley Stream about this upcoming fundraiser.
The Dog Day at the Green celebration will be held at the Valley Stream Dog Park on June 18 from 12:00 to 4:00 PM; the rain date is June 19.
