The lottery for the affordable housing project, Federation Nameoke Apartments, in Far Rockaway on Nameoke Avenue has been launched.
The Nameoke Apartments is a residential building reaching nine stories high, developed by the Federation Nameoke Housing Development. It offers 117 residential units. There are 45 units available for those making 60% of the median income in the area, which ranges from $35,040 to $91,500. Residents of Valley Stream who qualify for these apartments may want to enter the lottery.
Ten of the units come with two bedrooms renting monthly for $1,421 for incomes ranging from $53,143 to $91,500. Another 30 are one-bedroom renting monthly for $1,193 for incomes ranging from $44,263 to $76,260, and there are five studio apartments renting monthly for $947 for incomes ranging from $0 to $35,418.
The features of the apartment include a microwave oven, white appliances, and vinyl floors. Among the amenities offered at the apartments are a recreation room, outdoor spaces, an elevator, security cameras, a shared laundry room, and a security guard. Pets are not allowed in the units except for emotional supportive animals and service animals. Electricity in each apartment will be paid for by the tenant.
