Interacting with dogs is often part of life for Rockville Centre kids, and a program will teach them how to safely meet their furry friends.
Oceanside Library has scheduled a class that will introduce kids to the nonverbal cues dogs use to communicate with humans. Seating is limited, so registration will continue until all the spots are filled.
Kids at the session will meet Violet, who will help them learn how to interpret canine body language and other cues they may need to “read” when interacting with dogs. They will find out how to approach a dog safely and when it is better to walk away, and they will be able to practice their new skills. It has a runtime of one hour, and its listing explained that it may be especially helpful to children who may soon have a dog added to their family. It is intended for youngsters from grades one to five.
Kids often love animals, and a workshop provides a chance for them to learn more about them in a way that is fun and exciting. Handouts for a class can be crafted by area Stationery printers.
Oceanside Library has made arrangements to offer its Dig Savvy Kids session on September 17, and it will begin at 1:00 pm. There is no fee being charged, and registration priority will be given to Oceanside Library members.
