Rockville Centre celebrates spring

Spring has sprung in Rockville Centre, and as the days grow longer, a local venue has invited one and all to discover the science of the season.

Families from across Long Island will be heading to the Center for Science Teaching and Learning, which has plans in the works for its Nature Festival. All ages are welcome to participate in the celebration, which will run for 10 days in early April, and regular admission rates will apply.

Activities on the agenda will offer hands-on exploration that seeks to make learning fun. There will be bug hikes that visit the awakening insects, as well as pond scooping to see the polliwogs and other creatures that may be found in the water. There will also be nature-based crafts.

Many special spring events are held outdoors, which means any signage and decor used will have to be able to withstand the elements. Long Island residents itching to enjoy spring’s arrival are welcome to discover the Center’s Nature Festival, which will run from April 2 until 12, with the exception of April 5 and 8. It will be open from 10:00 until 4:00 pm on each day.
