Parents and children in Rockville Centre are getting eerily excited for the Center for Science Teaching and Learning’s Spooky Fest.
The event will run for a large chunk of October and includes mazes, walks in the woods, animals, monsters, and activities both scary and relaxed.
Two different walks through the forest are available of the spooky and not-so-spooky variety. The first one is a quarter mile hike featuring an abandoned cemetery with zombies, ghouls, ghosts, and more lurking behind every corner in a walk that Flyers promise will leave children clinging at the legs of their parents. The latter kind is a well-lit jaunt that has friendly monsters, such as smiling ghosts and happy scarecrows, with lots of opportunities for photographs.
In addition to the walks, the fest will also have a zombie maze, a mystic den with fortune telling and face painting, and an area with friendly costumed characters. An amazing animal exhibit has also been set up for children of all ages, with snakes, goats, turtles, owls, and more. An arts and crafts area will also allow young visitors to make a fun Halloween-themed decoration to take home.
The Spooky Fest will be held every Saturday from October 15 to the 30 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the Tanglewood Preserve, located at 1450 Tanglewood Road. Admission is $10 for a non-spooky ticket and $15 for a spooky ticket. Anyone interested in more information should visit the website.
