Rockville Center program geared for girls

Choosing what to do after high school can be a difficult decision, and an initiative has been planned for Rockville Center that can make the process a whole lot easier for area girls.

During College and Career Exploration Week, local girls will be able to take part in an assortment of activities designed to help them narrow down their postsecondary choices. The sessions will be conducted in an interactive basis, and the group will visit a different Long Island business to meet and talk with women in the workplace in a variety of industries.

The program will also help those who take part in exploring their career goals, interests, aptitudes, and abilities. This can guide them in choosing the high school courses that will be most beneficial and fit in best with their future plans. The tuition fee for the week long course has been set at $100, and scholarship opportunities are available for families who may need one. An area printing services provider can supply personalized presentations folders for distribution to the participants in an initiative such as this.

College and Career Exploration Week will take place from August 7 to 11, and will be held in Molloy College. The schedule runs from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm each day, and further details can be found on its Patch website event listing.
