Unique concerts highlight May weekend at library

The New Rochelle Public Library will be hosting two special concerts this month.

The first is the 'Sing You Heart Out' concert in the Ossie Davis Theater in the Library on Saturday May 16 at 1:30 p.m. This concert is held every year and features choral and ensemble pieces by those ages 55 and older, who have attended the voice lessons of the same name held at the library for the past several months.

The next day, on Sunday, May 17, also in the Ossie Davis Theater, the Rosewood Chamber Ensemble will be performing a concert of the Melodies of Mark Twain. Held from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, this concert is held in conjunction with the Big Read 2015 in Rochelle, which is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts and is designed to expose citizens of the United States to great works of literature. Mark Twain’s ‘The Adventures of Tom Sawyer’ is the book being read in the city this year.

The concert will highlight the passion Twain had for music, by chronicling his musical interests throughout his life and featuring the use of instruments germane to the time during which he lived.

The library is most likely turning to flyer printing companies to create colorful and attractive Flyers with more information about these concerts.
