Student orientation to be held by college in New Rochelle

Iona University in New Rochelle will be holding orientation sessions for incoming students this month.

The university requires that all first-year students attend one of these sessions. There will also be orientations for families on the same day as the student sessions.

The one-day session this month will feature breakfast; a welcoming session; an introduction to career development, student affairs, academic support services, and campus life; setting up the online community at Iona; lunch; an end of day reception; and tours of the campus. Such sessions often provide opportunities for local Print shops to create Brochures and other printed materials for students and families to take away with them.

There are three parts to the New Student Orientation for this year. The first is an on-campus one day visit during the month of June. Over the summer there will be modules held online with materials to be submitted during the month of August. Finally in August there will a mandatory two-day program for new transfer and first-year students.

The sessions during this month for both students and families will be Monday June 10, Wednesday June 12, Thursday June 13, and Tuesday June 18. The materials that incoming students will be working on over the summer will be due on Thursday August 22 and the two day program at the beginning of the fall semester will be on Sunday August 25 and Monday August 26.
