The first recipients of the new ‘Featured Business’ designation were recently announced by the city of New Rochelle. These are 36 unique establishments that show they are committed to excellence and attracting customers.
Among these special businesses are those that offer a place to climb rocks, flower arrangements, interior design services, and various international cuisines. Each of these businesses has a window decal colored coded to one of four categories—services, arts and entertainment, dining and food, and retail. The businesses will also be highlighted on interactive Wi-Fi kiosks set to be built in the city during this year.
The Department of Development for the City coordinates the new Featured Business Program, to which all businesses in New Rochelle are invited to apply as part of the redevelopment program of the city. There is increased online visibility for these businesses, as well as free access to tools that can help expand their marketing efforts to visitors and residents.
One business owner commented that New Rochelle has a culture that makes it ideal for business development, noting that it has a diverse and sophisticated population, is close to public transportation, and has made many improvements in the past few years.
