New sports program introduced in New Rochelle

A new Club Sports program is now underway at Iona College in New Rochelle.

This program is designed for those interested in organized sports that are not part of the Division I athletics program at the college.

Among the sports to be offered this year will be men’s and women’s soccer and men’s rugby in the fall; women’s and men’s basketball in the winter; men’s lacrosse in the spring; and co-ed weightlifting and esports all year round. These sports will enable students to follow their passion, learn more about their choice of sport and develop their skills, and develop relationships of a meaningful nature around shared interests.

Professional printing services of many kinds can be used to promote such new programs and their benefits for students.

Director of club sports, Matthew Grimaldi, expressed his happiness in being able to lead this new program at Iona College. He added that each sport will enable students to have a feeling of belonging and to contribute to the campus feeling more like a home away from home. He said that many students want to be involved in sports after high school but often do not want the rigorous competitions that are part of collegiate athletics.

The colleges against which club sports will be playing include the likes of Stony Brook, Fordham, and Columbia.
