The NewYork-Presbyterian Iona School of Health Sciences will be established within the next 12 to 18 months as the result of a partnership between Iona College in New Rochelle and NewYork-Presbyterian.
The School of Health Sciences will be on the campus of the college in Bronxville and will offer a new approach to care for the community, a modern workforce development, and collaborative healthcare education.
Seamus Carey, Ph.D., president of Iona College, expressed his excitement about this new relationship with NewYork-Presbyterian. He said that this is a unique opportunity to train the next generation of healthcare professionals, support the communities served by the college, and shape its future. He added that students at Iona will have the opportunity to complement their education in the liberal arts with the skills and knowledge required to excel in the healthcare industry.
The School of Health Sciences will build on existing programs at Iona that include social work, nursing, mental health counseling, and marriage and family therapy, with plans to develop additional programs that will include speech and physical therapy, nursing administration, medical technician, and clinical nurse specialist. Schools such as Iona often turn to brochure printing to provide more details about existing and planned programs and degrees.
Classes are expected to begin at the Bronxville campus in the fall of 2022.
