This weekend will see Kite Day take place, with the colorful poster printing that has gone on expected to see many local folks in attendance.
The weather is likely to have a say in the event though, with the outlook looking at least a little showery. However, the event, which is due for tomorrow (Saturday 8), has also scheduled in a rain day for the next day. Here's hoping things get off to a flying start.
The Kite Day is part of the celebrations to mark the 325th birthday of New Rochelle, and it is set to be a stunning day for all.
Taking center stage for the event will be the national kite-flying champions, as both Rosanna Rosanova and Charles Stewart are set to demonstrate their skills.
It is not all about the stars of the craft though, as there will be plenty of opportunity for both kids and adults to see just how thrilling an experience kite-flying can really be.
There is plenty more going on as well as the kites too. Local vendors will be serving up tasty food and drink, while there will be other activities in which to take part. With many expected to attend, business owners could well need some extra flyer printing services too.
There will also be music through the day, provided by popular local act Third Stone DJ, while the Mayor's Cup Regatta viewing will also be on hand.
The event is scheduled to get underway from 11:00 am and run through 3:00 pm on Saturday June 8, with Sunday June 9 being the rain day.
