Iona College in New Rochelle recently announced the appointment of Dr. Mark Kiselica as the next senior vice president and provost of the college, effective July 1.
In his position, Dr. Kiselica will be responsible for developing, planning, implementing, and creating budgets for all programs related to academic support and student life at the college. He will also be instrumental in guiding the initiatives for the five-year plan of the college.
According to Dr. Joseph E. Nyre, President of Iona College, his qualifications as a scholar, professor, and administrator are impressive. Dr. Kiselica is joining the college at a time when the right academic leader is needed to promote the academic reputation of the college.
Dr. Kiselica joined the College of New Jersey in 1994 and, since 2009, has held several positions there as a professor of counselor education, psychologist, and dean of the School of Education. Prior to 1994, he was at Ball State University, where he held a senior teaching position in counseling psychology.
Dr. R. Barbara Gitenstein, President of the College of New Jersey, commented that she has observed Dr. Kiselica for 15 years and has known him to be a caring and skilled academic leader.
No doubt the college is turning to flyer printing to make the community aware of the announcement and of Dr. Kiselica’s qualifications for the position.
