The Ossie Davis Theater at the main branch of the New Rochelle Public Library is the location for the last of its summer workshops.
The Summer Family Film Series will present its final featured musical, ‘Meet Me in St. Louis’ from 1944, at 6:00 pm next Monday, August 8. Judy Garland, Lucille Bremer, Mary Astor, and Margaret O'Brien star in this film about how a prosperous family celebrates the opening day of the World’s Fair in 1944.
The next day, at 7:00 pm, Bokandeye African Dance and Drums will be presented as part of the International Music and Dance series. An ensemble of djembe drummers and dancers will entertain audiences with spirited movements, costumes, and sounds that relate the cultural traditions of African villages.
From 10:30 am to noon on Wednesday, August 10, the Film for Younger Set series will present the film version of The Cat in the Hat from 2003. It is a live-action film where the main character tries to have fun with two young children, a brother, and a sister.
That afternoon, beginning at 2:00 pm, there will be the Live Science Show for students in elementary school. A range of diverse wild animals will be presented, with a focus on the protection of animals and the importance of conservation.
The Library might benefit from various printing services to make the community aware of these final programs of the summer.
