There will be a variety of special programs at the New Rochelle Public Library this month in addition to its ongoing monthly activities.
Coming up for this weekend, October 4 and 5, the library will join the New Rochelle Council on the Arts to present a performance by the Villalobos Brothers. This trio performs the roles of composers, arrangers, singer-songwriters, and virtuoso violinists and instrumentalists, and will be on the Library Green for a free concert.
Also this weekend, a memorial tribute will be held for Ruby Dee, who was a contributor to the town. There will be a film festival for the two days, which is free to attend and will celebrate the life of Dee, who was an actress, poet, playwright, screenwriter, journalist, and activist.
Italian Heritage and Culture Month will also be celebrated with a special program. Mario Toglia will present a talk on the Calitrani Immigrants of America. Toglia has researched this province of Avellino in Italy to determine his ancestral history and has written a book about it.
Then, on Saturday, October 18 at 3:00 pm, there will be a live musical performance of ‘Vincent Ricciardi Sings Mario Lanza and Caruso too!’
The library is most likely using poster printing and flyer printing to provide more information about these events.
