Artists have opportunity to win rent-free apartment in New Rochelle

RXR Realty and the City of New Rochelle recently formed a partnership to laugh a contest that will award the winner a studio apartment at the 360 Huguenot for one year, rent free.

The Huguenot is 280-unit mixed-use building that is 28 stories high and is close to the completion of its construction. It is located in downtown New Rochelle, minutes from the Metro-North station, and will have a black box theater, 10,000 square feet in size, for art, dance, theater, film, and music programs.

Luiz Aragon, the Commissioner of Development for New Rochelle, said the city is particularly looking for artists to live in the new building and encouraging them to submit a video, no longer than 30 seconds, explaining why New Rochelle is an ideal city for supporting creativity.

He added that the community of artists is an important part of the transformation of the downtown. The contest will be a fun way to cultivate the artists and their creative energy that is so vital to the city.

Banner printing companies can be hired to promote such contests throughout the community and the award given for winning such a contest.

Artists interested in applying for this contest need to do so by May 17. The winner of the contest will be announced in July.
