The county will be awarded a Designation Grant worth $5,000. The funding will be spent on buying electrical equipment for the Department of General Services. Samples of electric-powered equipment – including leaf blowers, lawn mowers, and weed cutters – will be procured to assist the County in determining the optimum way to adopt the usage of electric tools for maintaining the County's grounds in places such as New City.

The county, which will no doubt want to promote its achievements with the help of brochure printing companies, seeks another $75,000 from the Grant Program for two key initiatives. The first involves creating a detailed account of the greenhouse gas emissions as a result of daily operations. This inventory provides crucial data to establish realistic targets and monitor progress in reducing energy use, operating costs, and emissions. The second initiative focuses on the climate action plan, which is a strategic document outlining goals and initiatives to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
