Paddle series plans summer fun in New City

New City residents looking for ways to beat the heat this summer will want to take note of a planned paddle series that will explore Lake DeForest.

The 2026 Reservoir Paddle Series is heading to Rockland County this June to help New City residents enjoy a memorable day on the water with friends, family, and like-minded community members. The excursion, which is being organized by Hackensack Riverkeeper, will be exploring Lake DeForest, providing attendees the chance to paddle and fish the lake's waters.

In addition to making outdoor fun more accessible, the paddle adventure will act as a fundraiser for Hackensack Riverkeeper’s goal of protecting and preserving the Hackensack River’s watershed for future generations to enjoy.

The agenda features two open paddle sessions to provide flexibility to interested parties with busy schedules, with one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Eco-friendly organizations can rely on Print shops to procure environmentally friendly and recyclable marketing materials to promote community events like this.

Registered guests can rent a boat or bring their own, though standup paddleboards will not be allowed. The day will also feature the NY Fish & Wildlife Fishing Challenge.

Participants will meet at Strawtown Fields in New City, and the paddle excursion is scheduled for Saturday, June 27th, starting at 8:00 AM. Tickets can be purchased online, starting at $33 per person.
