Professor delivers talk on living green

Karl Coplan will be at the New City Library to talk about how he managed to reduce his carbon footprint to an environmentally sustainable level without sacrificing the quality of his life.

The well-documented issue of climate change is encouraging people to be more conscious about the environmental. Coplan will show them how to keep their carbon footprint down at 220 Main Street, New City next week. Events like these often have Promotional Products such as recycled items on display.

Coplan will speak about the challenging and fun parts of the year that he spent living a sustainable lifestyle. He would take a kayak to work, find the best locations to charge his electric car, and eat sustainably-sourced food while still having the freedom to take long flights. Part of the presentation will concentrate on showing other people how to measure where their carbon footprint should be, and the easy steps to take towards managing it.

Selecting the right sources of energy was an important part of the experience. If his method is used correctly, Coplan will show how people do not have to live in cabins in the woods in order to live sustainable lives.

Coplan teaches law at Pace University. He also runs a clinic on environmental litigation and serves on Waterkeeper Alliance’s board of directors. His talk begins at 7:00 pm next Monday, December 2.
