The NCNW (National Council of Negro Women) is hosting a virtual event to recognise three New City women.
This year marks its 46th annual event. Those wishing to attend must donate $100, or a donation as small as $25 can be made to simply support the event but not attend.
Due to the pandemic, the ceremony has had to go virtual, but there will still be vendors, and those wishing to purchase anything from them will be able to find them online.
The vendors will be presenting first in the event, followed by the main ceremony, and ending with a dance party. Vendors include Stoosh Images, Black Wellness Initiative, and Jewelry & Clay Works By Valerie.
The honorees of the main event are Sara E. Dennis, owner of Affinity Designs and a software engineer by trade; La-Trina Robinson-Webster, founder of ADHD (All Daughters Have Dreams) and New York educator; and Nydia D. Southerland, youth leader and current third vice president of the section of the NCNW in Brooklyn.
The organization is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, meaning donations made are tax deductible. Those who wish to attend may access the event through Hopin, and find information about the organization and vendors, including graphics with their logo designs.
The event is set for Saturday, May 15, running from 4:00 to 11:00 pm.
