Tarrytown will host a solo performance by Americana singer and guitarist Jason Isbell. This performance will take place at the Tarrytown Music Hall, a manageable distance for New City-based fans.
Born in North Alabama, Isbell was taught to play multiple instruments by his family. They also played together every week to play music. As a teenager, he became an apprentice to multiple local musicians. Two of them were David Hood and Mike Cooley of the band Drive-By Truckers. Eventually, when he was 21, Isbell signed with FAME studios.
From there, began performing and recording music with Drive-By Truckers. After he split from them in 2007, he started his own solo career. His fourth album, Southeastern, won him several Americana Music Awards. He also received praise for it from great artists such as Bruce Springsteen and John Prine. His fifth album, Something More Than Free, won him two Grammy Awards and two more Americana Music Awards.
Shortly after, Isbell formed his band, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. The third album from the group, The Nashville Sound, won two Grammy awards.
