A lecture about the late film actor Gregory Peck will happen this March at the New City library. The award-winning motivational speaker Barry Bradford will be the lecturer.
Gregory Peck was a popular American film star in the ‘40s, ‘50s, and ‘60s, know for his performances in 'Roman Holiday' (1953) and 'To Kill a Mockingbird' (1962), among others. His contributions to the film industry earned him a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as well as two lifetime achievement awards from AFI and the Screen Actors Guild. He also earned a Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Lyndon B. Johnson and a Nation Medal of Arts from President Bill Clinton.
Barry Bradford has been named as 'the best American teacher' by the Organization of American Historians. He has also won awards from the President, Congress, and many Civil Rights Organizations. Most major media outlets, including ABC, CBS, The Today Show, and The New York Times, have interviewed him.
Bradford will be utilizing film clips of the late actor and his often-praised presentation style through the lecture. The lecture itself will take place online via Zoom on March 22 from 2:00 pm to 3:15 pm. However, interested participants must register via the New City Library website.
