Call goes out to New Citys budding carpenters

The Northeast Carpenters Apprenticeship Fund is hosting a recruitment drive for new carpenters.

The recruitment drive will be open for applicants from numerous towns in New York State, such as New City, and several counties such as Westchester and Dutchess. Applicants who wish to join the program must be:

- 18 years or older
- High school graduates or holders of high school diplomas such as GED and TASC
- Able to perform carpentry related works such as scaffolding and working from heights
- Able to lift items heavier than 50lbs
- Willing to submit to and pass drug tests
- Residents from counties other than Suffolk, Nassau, and New York’s Five Burroughs

Sessions will be held on the first Monday of every month starting at 6:00 pm. Applicants who attend the information sessions will be given codes to complete their registrations. The applications will be completed online and those who do not have internet access can complete their applications at the closest Career Center or local library.

- Lead Carpenter at the Rockland County Construction Job Posting
- General Carpenter at Iona College
- Carpenter Helper at Putnam Handyman Services
- Carpenter at Envision Carpentry and Remodeling Inc

The drive started on June 3 and will be open until June 2020.
