Bus routes change for the summer

County Executive Ed Day as well as the Rockland County Department of Public Transportation announced that several of the bus routes in Rockland will be using summer detours.

As of June 29, Transport of Rockland (TOR) #93 are diverted to reach the Spook Rock Swimming Pool in Suffern. Updated TOR #93 bus schedules and approximate drop-off and pickup times for the pool can be found at the Rockland Community College. This detour will not cause any changes to the rest of the bus’s schedule.

On June 27 and July 4, TOR #92 detoured in order to avoid the closure of East Central Avenue so that patrons could enjoy their dinners on the sidewalks. Passengers who wished to use TOR #92 to access Pearl River were able to link up with the busses located at South Middletown Road or take a bus on Route 304 from East Central Avenue. Buses tend to feature the Logo Design of the organization that runs them.

TOR will also be providing transport to many farmers’ markets, parks and summer venues located all over the county. TOR #93 will pass close to Suffern’s Kakiat Park and also go to Harriman Park located in Sloatsburg. TOR #91 will be the best bus for people who wish to go to the riverfront parks in Haverstraw and Nyack, as well as the parks in New City. More information about the schedules can be found at www.rocklandbus.com.
