The Phoenix Theatre Ensemble, based in New York City, is planning to hold a festival in the fall in Nyack to celebrate the performing arts. Residents of nearby Nanuet will not want to miss this special event.
There will be concerts, live theater, and more, all performed outdoors against the vistas of the Hudson River. Performances will be in the afternoons so that attendees can enjoy the riverside, shop and dine in Nyack, and enjoy the nightlife. Among the settings will be the garden at the Edward Hopper House Museum and Study Center, and pastoral Marydell at the foot of Hook Mountain.

President of the Nyack Chamber of Commerce, Roger Cohen, said that this festival will help to make Nyack a destination for tourists, foodies, and art enthusiasts to visit over and over to enjoy everything the town has to offer. Executive Director of the festival, Craig Smith, added that the vision is to make this an annual event on the Hudson River during the height of the foliage season that will engage talent from the area and attract art enthusiasts from both near and far.
The festival will run from Friday, September 16 through Sunday, October 16 over five weekends.
