Toy brick store in Nanuet area earns award
CP of New York State has given the Program Innovation Award for 2024 to Brick It Again, a resale shop of LEGO launched last year by Jawonio, a non-profit organization in Valley Cottage. LEGO fans from nearby Nanuet will no doubt be interested to hear this news.
CP of New York State serves people with cerebral palsy and developmental disabilities and provides resources for families. Jawonio provides lifespan services for people with behavioral health challenges, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and chronic medical conditions throughout the Hudson Valley.
The shop offers people the ability to try out a new kit or just spend time with like-minded fans, find that brick that is most needed for their next project, or host a party. Brochure printing is often used to help promote such offerings and other features.
Michael Alvaro, CEO and President of CP of New York State, said that this is not just a store but a place for life-changing experiences and education and has become a pillar in the community for not only those who make building LEGO their hobby but a place for social gathering for all members of the community.
Randi Rios-Castro, CEO of Jawonio, said that Brick It Again is where “LEGO bricks become building blocks for a brighter future” and demonstrates what the potential is in everyone.
