Special family-focused day comes to Rockland County

Rockland Community College in Suffern, just a short distance from Nanuet, will be the host for the 18th annual YouthFest.

Featured at YouthFest is a day filled with entertainment that includes live performances by local arts organizations and the Big Apple Circus, the Teddy Bear Hospital from Nyack Hospital, and Inflatable Party Adventures.

According to Ed Day, County Executive, in addition to the entertainment and activities, there will be material for residents about health and wellness, safety, financial and college planning, and other topics that are related to family issues. Parents and caregivers will be able to take away Brochures with information about local programs, services and products that are important for their ability to make informed decisions for their children and others.

YouthFest also coincides with Rockland County Government Day so that attendees will be able to meet with over 25 County of Rockland departments. There will be interactive demonstrations and displays and attendees will be able to ask government representatives about the services ad programs offered by the County.

Some of the many businesses and organizations in the community that are sponsoring YouthFest include Apple Bank, Good Samaritan Hospital, All Bright Electric, and Rockland County YMCA as well as several other colleges in the area in addition to Rockland Community College.

YouthFest will be held on March 6 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Both admission and parking are free.
