Rockland organization holds membership drive

A membership drive is being held this month by Keep Rockland Beautiful. Residents of Nanuet and other communities in the county will no doubt want to take advantage of the special offerings so that the organization can continue to keep the streams and streets in the county clean and healthy.

The organization gathers residents of the county together in fall and holds spring clean-up drives to remove debris from waterways, parks, and streams throughout the county. It also offers educational programs for young people so that they will strive to create a greener and more sustainable environment for the future.

Those who become members receive discounts from many local businesses, such as 10% off a season pass at Tallman Beach and Pool Club; a 20% discount at Cottage Creek Gardens; and 5% off workshops in 2020 at Strawtown Studio. Flyer printing is often used to highlight benefits of such memberships.

Members also receive heirloom seeds from Hudson Valley Seed Company. People who join this month will also be able to attend the annual meeting and party at the Nyack Public Library. There will be lively conversation about the plans of Keep Rockland Beautiful for the upcoming year and guest speaker Marcy Denker, Sustainability Coordinator from Nyack, who will talk about the 2020 Climate Action Plan and Coalition of Nyack. This will be held on Tuesday, January 28 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
