Legislators from Rockland County, Christopher Carey, Patrick Moroney, and Vincent Tyer, recently honored William Young of Nanuet, who was also designated by the Rockland Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) as Hibernian of the Year.
Young graduated from Pearl River High School and then attended Manhattan College to earn a Bachelor of Engineering degree and a Master’s in business administration. PSE&G utility company has been his employer for the past 29 years, and he is now PSEG Power’s Manager of Fuel Supply.
Since 2004, he has belonged to Rockland AOH Division 3 and has been its financial secretary since 2007. Last year he was designated as Vice President of the Rockland County AOH.
Having served on the Orangetown Town Planning Board and the board of the Nanuet Black & Gold sports club, Young has been involved in civic affairs. He has been a member of the scholarship committee for the AOH and the sports club.
Legislator Tyer thanked Young for all his contributions and commented that the AOH would not be able to reach all its goals without people like Young, who are always willing to volunteer their time by stepping up to meet any and all challenges.
