Trunk or Treat will be held for the second consecutive year by the student veterans of Rockland Community College later this month.
Located in Suffern, the college is sufficiently close to Nanuet that student veterans from there will no doubt want to attend.
Those who attend the event are asked to go to the parking lot at the Fieldhouse and place candy and other treats for Halloween in their open trunks. Children dress up in their Halloween costumes and go from trunk to trunk in a similar fashion as they would go from house to house on Halloween.
There will also be a bouncy house on site and the best costumes will be awarded prizes. Available for purchase will be coffee, hot apple cider, and freshly popped popcorn.
Proceeds of the event go to support the Veterans Lounge and Battle Buddy Center at the college. Student veterans of the college gather in the lounge to study, participate in recreational and social activities, and relax with fellow veterans. A computer, printer, and accompanying supplies are needed for the lounge.
Trunk or Treat will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 pm on Friday, October 26 at Rockland Community College. Organizers of this sort of event often use flyer printing to draw attention to the event and its fundraising efforts.
