Work will soon begin on a pavement improvement project on the New York State Thruway in Rockland County.
The work will be done from South Nyack at the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge to the exit for Nanuet and Spring Valley in Ramapo, and is expected to cost $17.8m.
Kathy Hochul, governor of New York State, said that the region of the lower Hudson Valley is critical for drivers and commerce travelling to and from New York City. Hochul added that this investment will ensure that the ride will be smoother for the many people who travel this part of the Thruway every day.
The pavement on this stretch of the Thruway will be renewed with mill and inlay operations to a depth of two inches from milepost 16.4 to milepost 24 in both directions. Work will also be done on five interchange ramps from exit 10 in South Nyack to exit 14 in Spring Valley, which leads to Nanuet. In addition, there will be new Signs, more reflective line striping, and improvements to drainage.
Work will be undertaken during the overnight hours to limit its impact on traffic. There will be lane closures, stoppages, and shifts in traffic during the project. Word about road improvements like these is often spread with Flyers and other printed materials created by local Print shops.
