Eli Hardof, an entrepreneur from Nanuet, recently unveiled a premium organic beard oil line, after a trip to San Francisco where it seemed to him that many men were bearded and took better care of their beards than most men he had seen.
Hardof felt he could develop his own blend that would be superior to any commercially available product. It uses cold pressed Argan and Johoba oils, which are 100 percent certified organic oils, and moisturize the whiskers, so they are softer, have a nice sheen, and are easier to groom.
Hardof said much of the itching of skin as well as dandruff of the beard is eliminated. The scent is proprietary, is old world manly and has hints of smoke, vanilla, pine, a touch of orange peel and notes of teakwood oil.
He named the product Beaver Buddy Balmy Beard Oil, whose slogan is “Beards with benefits.” The product is available at Ray’s Barbershop, in the Inwood section of Manhattan, as well as at a pharmacy nearby. He plans to go door to door in the upcoming month in Brooklyn and Manhattan, using various marketing services to promote the product. The product will also be available for purchase on a mass-marketing web site.
Hardof blends, bottles, and labels the product in Rockland County.
