Nanuet and Beyond and the Greater Nanuet Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a 5K Race and Walk this month.
The event will be raising funds for the scholarship and grant program, and other educational activities of Nanuet and Beyond – an initiative started by the Chamber to focus on educational projects and programs in the Nanuet area while the Chamber sets its focus on local businesses.
The Race and Walk will begin at 8:30 am with the start and finish at the main entrance of Nanuet High School. Signing in for the event for those who have pre-registered will begin at 7:00 am. A timing chip and bib will be given to each runner. Runners will be categorized by age group and gender. There will also be the option to purchase a race T-shirt, which will sport the Logo Design of the Chamber.
A $50 gift certificate will be given to the top male and female finishers in the 5K race. A $25 gift certificate will be given to second place winners, while third place winners will receive a $15 gift certificate.
People can also participate in walking the 5K route. A medal will be given to the first 150 people who finish the walk. There will also be a walk of one mile for those who want to support Nanuet and Beyond and be part of the fun.
The event will be this Sunday, May 7.
